TMDC12 on its way, get ready!

Info by phoenix on October 22nd, 2009

The NA demoscene has made some nice textmode demos in the past, and soon you can show them off again!

In TMDC, the Textmode Demo Compo, 12th edition, you can submit your stuff from 11/11/2009 to 12/12/2009.
An official invitation is on the way – but you don’t have to wait for it to start your demo! The rules are the same as last year, for now.

Another new demoparty in the US may be born soon! Nurupo (which is Japanese slang for “NullPointerException”) is in the early planning stages. It will be held in conjunction with MAGFest, a video game art/music/film festival in Alexandria, VA. Music, graphics, and wild competitions are planned so far to warm up the regular crowd. Keep your eyes peeled here:

(news has been slow, so I can get away with an announcement for this :)

Abort Retry Fail, DC5’s return to activity and winner of the Blockparty 2009 wild compo, is finally officially released, now with loading bar, proper synching, info file, all kinds of tweaks, and a hidden part. A new DOSBox capture will be posted on capped.tv soon, followed by a real PC capture if we can manage it. Download it from scene.org today!

Rampage, aka Turkish Rambo, is now available on DVD! The folks at Dark Maze Studios have rescued the 1986 film from the vaults of Turkey and re-dubbed the voices, while Virt / Brainstorm has created a new musical score which sounds well over the original budget. He previewed it at the Blockparty 2009 wild compo. The DVD is on sale here:

And the soundtrack is available for free here!

So grab your plastic bazookas and go on a RAMPAGE! (Thoonk!) (Boom!)

Four days to Blockparty!

Info by phoenix on April 13th, 2009

Well, three really, counting the free Notacon seminar preview on Thursday night. Registration is over but there are plenty of tickets left at the door for $100. A couple weeks ago, Devi Ever stepped in with some cool prizes for the oldskool demo and resurrected oldskool music compo. Now the regular demo competition boasts a unique prize – the compo machine itself! It sports a Core 2 Quad Q9400 and a GeForce GTX 280. So get cracking on those entries – or meet someone at the party and make something up on the spot! See you there…
