The @party organizers are excited to announce that the event schedule will include live music performances by Oxygenstar, Coda, and Animalstyle, and a live visual performance by NO CARRIER (more musicians may be added to this list soon). Check out the schedule page for additional information.
The registration deadline (for onsite attendees) AND submission deadline for remote compo entries is JUNE 7, 2010. They cannot make exceptions, as the venue needs to know the headcount for the event in advance. There will be NO registration at the door. Note for overnight guests, private rooms with 1-3 beds are going fast (dorm-style rooms with more beds will still be available). Room type requests cannot be confirmed they have your registration in hand.
To register, go to the registration information page or visit the Brown Paper Tickets page for the event. Discounts may be available for full-time students receiving need-based financial aid and folks living at or below the federal poverty line. The budget will be shared with attendees at the end of the event, following Notacon’s model.
If you’re interested in attending the new demoparty in Massachusetts this summer, go to www.atparty-demoscene.net to register! You can register with overnight beds or without (for locals staying at home), and pre-order a tshirt and help out with a sponsor pack (details to come later). Please remember that the “hostel room” assignment on the registration site is only for the bed, and “entry ticket” must still be selected.
The site for the first edition of @party (and more to come, if we’re lucky will be the Friendly Crossways hostel and retreat center in east-central Massachusetts. It’s a far cry from the hotels and business centers of most US conventions, with a cozy space for 40-80 visitors and all their eating, sleeping, and showering needs. Not to mention a big field outside to soak in the June weather. Here are some photos inside and out, so you can imagine how to fill it up with your hardware and creativity!
As always, the latest info is available at http://www.atparty-demoscene.net, and feedback is welcome. Online registration will be up soon.
We’re excited to announce another new US demoparty, this one a summer retreat coming next year. @party will be held in mid-June at a meeting hall & hostel in Harvard, Massachusetts (the town, not the university), about 30 miles northwest of Boston and a few hours from New York City and Montreal.
The official website is here. More info will surface in the next few months.
Also, be sure to fill out their survey, so they know what compos and activities people are interested in.
@party discussion is welcome in our forum.
